Tommy Roe

Atlanta, Georgia singer-songwriter Tommy Roe has his first No. 1 U.S. single with "Sheila" (No. 3 U.K.) a Buddy Holly style rockabilly rave up. The Beatles, still unknown in the U.S. at the time, opened for Roe and Chris Montez on their 1962 U.K. tour.
