Surfin’ Bird

The Trashmen

The surf music craze reaches all the way to Minnesota, as Minneapolis band The Trashmen score a No. 4 U.S., No. 3 U.K. hit with their single "Surfin' Bird". The song combines two novelty songs by California R&B band The Rivingtons "The Birds The Word" and "Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow".
