Motown Records moved to Los Angeles in 1972, but founder Berry Gordy's sister, Esther Gordy Edwards continued working in the original Detroit building. Edwards began offering tours of the original Studio A. With help from a $125,000 donation from Michael Jackson the Motown Museum opens.
