Designed by architect I.M. Pei, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum opens in Cleveland, Ohio. The RRHOF Foundation was established in 1983 and several cities were considered for the hall's permanent home, but Cleveland civic boosters raised $65 million to help fund construction.
