Spice Girls

After answering a U.K. ad to audition for an all-female pop band, followed by two years of demos and dance practice, the group now known as The Spice Girls release their debut single "Wannabe". The song is an immediate No. 1 hit in the U.K., where it is followed by two more chart toppers in 1996 including "2 Become 1".
