Irish rock band U2 explore a more dance/club oriented sound on their ninth album Pop. The album is their fifth in a row to hit No. 1 in both the U.S. and U.K. The album's lead single "Discotheque" hits No. 1 U.K., No. 10 U.S. The band began their year long PopMart Tour in April, playing to almost four million fans.
