After gigging around Southern California, singer songwriter Jewel (Kilcher) is signed to Atlantic Records and releases her debut album Pieces of You in 1995. Two years later her second single "You Were Meant For Me" charts at No. 2 U.S. and No. 32 U.K. Despite it's slow start, the album goes on to sell 15 million copies worldwide.
