54-46 That's My Number

Toots & The Maytals

Toots and the Maytals have a hit in Jamaica with the single "54-46 That's My Number" considered by many to be the first reggae song. Evolving from ska and rocksteady, reggae hits spread to the U.S. and U.K. throughout the ’70s and beyond.
